Hello All!!
First time on the forum. I love my electro 4 sw73 and have had it for 6 years. I haven't played or for awhile I just noticed today that when I engage the SPKR/COMP button, the volume gets significantly quieter and the sound gets thinner.. confused me because I don't remember that. Any other electro 4 players out there with the same thing? The only thing I adjust is the on off button for this feature.
Many thanks in advance!!!
Keep jamming,
Jimmy

Re: SPKR/COMP on/off question... volume issue!?! Thanks!
Refer to page 15 of the manual. The settings of the controls for this effect can produce lower volumes if the compression is set high enough. This effect can change the sound in several ways.

Re: SPKR/COMP on/off question... volume issue!?! Thanks!
Hi Ledbetter!! So I reviewed the manual and tried as you suggested, but still the sound quality is greatly diminished (volume, warmth, etc) when i engage the rotary feature only. All other features under the SPKR/COMP do not do this.... someone with an electro 4 want to try and replicate what I'm doing? Haha many thanks!

Just a wild guess: are you routing both channels to a single speaker and thus cause any phase cancellations?

Re: SPKR/COMP on/off question... volume issue!?! Thanks!
Thanks for the wild guess Meister-Lampe! Running stereo, two Yamaha HS8's.. I can have the rotary stopped and hitting the SPKR/COMP button on/ off is like hitting a switch for volume. It's that noticeable. .. are they all like this? Thanks again!
