Hey Guys
i have some general questions about using my NE 5 hp. The bass player of our band dropped out und so i'm going to have to play some of the bass parts. I tried to figure out whats the best way. So far i'm not able to have a piano sample over the full key range und just a bass sample part supporting the lower part, seems like this is'nt really possible is it?
And the second question, what Bass sample/ settings are you using for your left hand bass. I'm looking for a nice soft bass sound, kinda like in this video with a nord stage (up from 0:48)

Any Suggestions?
thx in forward

Yo!
Try this one! It´s a bass-sample that "crossfades" to silence!
I´m using it exactly as you wish, just to add some bass to the piano!!

Re: Left Hand Bass
Hi Guys,
I'm wanting to do this too; ie add a bass to the left hand area.
I don't own a Nord but often play the Stage 2EX at my church so I don't get the option to link the kb to my Mac desktop.
Is it possible to save the above 2 files to a USB stick and load them into the Nord's Sample Library?
Many thanks!

Hi Mike,
no unfortunately, the only way to get it on the Stage 2 EX is by using Nord's Sound Manager
Best regards, Schorsch

Re: Left Hand Bass
Many thanks Schorsch, I did download the Sound Manager, but, as you say, it was asking for a connection to a Nord to function.
What puzzles me is that I had read that it was possible to transport stuff round the world on a USB stick to enable using (your samples/instruments) on someone else's kb in another country.
All I really want to do is load the "Bass1low1" files, shared above by papamotif, into my Church kb, without having to...ok, I know I'm just re-asking the same question
Maybe I'll look for another route; there must be some bass type samples on board the Nord, I guess.
Thanks again; saves me ploughing through multiple manuals.

Re: Left Hand Bass
As @Schorsch says, you need a computer (Mac or Windows) to load samples onto a board. The talk about using a USB stick is for bringing your files from one computer to another. There is NO way around connecting the device to a computer, so don't spend more time looking for a solution without.
But as you say, maybe there is a bass sample already on the board.

Papamotif, do you have the original wav sound you used for the ".nwiproj" file.... it looks like it's called "bass1.wav" ?

Re: Left Hand Bass
I finally had the chance to try this bass sample out, pairing with a Supertramp-styled Wurlitzer patch, with the bass an octave lower. It's perfect to add some oomf to the left hand. It sounds like adding an acoustic bass. Very nice! Thanks very much for creating & sharing this.
Would you be able to also do this with another type of bass sound, one with a more biting attack and tone - more of an electric sound? That would be very useful for songs that are higher energy or have more of a rock/funk groove.
Thanks again!
