This would also explain why it did work when I first turned it on after receiving it.
It was most likely shipped with OS 1.06 installed.

Re: Nord Electro 6 String Resonance Question

I've had a look at the string resonance on my Nord Electro 6 HP and using Royal Grand 3D Med I found that the test mentioned above using middle D and the A above and hitting the d below shows a definite difference. I tried the other tests mentioned but wasn't sure whether it made any difference having the string res light on or not. I was listening through high quality open back headphones and the string res was set to +6. I don't know what the piano software version is because I've only had the piano a couple of days and haven't got round to connecting it to a computer yet. By the way somebody above mentioned Royal Grand XL version. I am right in assuming that this is not included on the piano straight out of the box and has to be downloaded.

@Macko. Thanks for checking.

You can see what software your Electro 6HP is running when you turn it on and it’s loading up.
I’d be curious to see what it says. If you haven’t updated anything since you got the keyboard then I would assume you’re running v1.06

Yes I had to download the Royal Grand 3D XL from the Nord site and install it.

I have a NE6 as well and have experienced the same thing. I know sympathetic resonance is working because I can hear the difference (and man is it beautiful) but I can't recreate the resonance by striking the keys as above in the video. Maybe it is different for the newer boards. I am on the latest firmware.
Doesn't bother me, but it is a little curious. All my pianos are large and above.

Hey @baekgaard,

Did you ever hear anything from reporting this bug?
Any answer or response from Nord?

Nord USA confirmed receipt of my question but no definitive answer has been given yet.
Just wondering if you’ve heard anything at all from your support request, or bug report?

Thanks!

@gabechurray: The normal support system goes via the national dealer, which is why you don't always receive a reply from Nord HQ. And usually, when you send in a clearly documented and reproducible error, there is no need for further interaction. So I'm quite confident that Nord is aware of the bug now. I obviously don't know when this will be fixed in a new release, but given the previous track record, there will likely be a steady stream of releases and bug-fixes also for the NE6 (Nord is usually good at churning out updates with bugfixes; just see the history of the other previous instruments).

New software released today!
Looks like v1.18 addresses the sympathetic string issue.
Thanks Nord!

I’ve even turned it all the way to +6db and string res is stilll inaudible.

Could someone maybe confirm they have string res with OS 1.16 just to eliminate that it’s the OS update that’s causing it?
Pressing a key while hitting another key as demonstrated in this video: https://youtu.be/kRBiccrT6Wg?t=26

Have you fix this?
I think I have the same problem. I only listen the string ressonance feature only with the pedal down.
