Each has plenty of things the other doesn't.jaws21014 wrote:I used to own a ROLAND Rd170 VERY good features. Things it had that the NORD HP5 doesn't:
No, Roland has 64 total available factory sounds, Nord has way more, plus you can download more from their web site, plus you can create your own user samples. Roland also allows you to save only 16 of your own custom variations, Nord permits you to save your own variations into all 128 program locations.jaws21014 wrote:Way more sounds
For organ, Roland has 4 presets, Nord has a full Hammond drawbar-style organ section with access to every drawbar variation (and control over percussion, etc.), plus Vox and Farfisa emulations.jaws21014 wrote:and very realistic organs
Some of the other advantages the Nord has over the Roland include replaceable piano sounds (you can even put the 2018 piano/EP sounds into the 2009 model) and real time effects controls. If these and its other advantages aren't really what you need and you'd rather have had those Roland features, that's no fault of Nord, you just bought the wrong board for your needs.
