Hi,
My Nord Electro HP4 has started to randomly change sounds while I'm playing.
As of now I don't see a pattern, however it mostly does this if I'm playing many notes at a time. But sometimes it does it completely on it's own without me even touching it.
Needless to say this is pretty annoying and has made my keyboard useless.
Has anybody experienced anything similar and can help me with this issue? I really don't have time to send it back to the manufacturer..
The only thing I've tried is restoring it to factory settings, this didn't help.

Are you playing the device completely "on it's own" -- i.e. no MIDI or USB connections at all?

No, there are no cables connected to the keyboard besides the power cable.

Are the "new" programs random jumps to anywhere, or could they be caused by one of your buttons acting up, as if it was shortly pressed?

No, it's all random. Sometimes it changes from piano to organ and other times it just messes with the tremolo or phaser. Other times it jumps back and forward between programs making the lights in the keyboard look like strobe lights.

Re: Nord Electro 4HP changes sounds on its own
Maybe there is a loose connection between the buttons/knobs and the other parts of the electronics. I'm not entirely sure about the layout of these devices, but if the buttons and knobs are on a separate PCB connected to a mother board located elsewhere (in the lower section of the cabinet), then maybe a loose connector could cause the issues you have? I just did quick search on youtube and found at least one disassembly of a NE4 (HP model), so you may want to check up on that if you're out of warranty and don't have a repair shop nearby.
