Hi,
one "major detail" I'd like to change for the Vox model in the Electro 5 is the tone drawbar.
The problem is that the difference between "0" and "1" is too big.
This simply doesn't work for playing: "0" is too dull, but "1" is already overwhelming.
I had a quick look at the schematic, the minimum reed step should be around -25 dB, compared to maximum (Fig. 13 middle of sheet). But maybe the Germanium-transistor dividers weren't as squeaky bright as their digital model.

NE5: Vox Reed tone control
And I was worried - all the way down to the ground
When it comes to holding safety nets
Nobody seems to be around

Re: NE5: Vox Reed tone control
In the previous Nord models, such as the Nord Electro 4, or the Nord Stage 2/2EX for example, there were two separate drawbars, "fundation tone drawbar ~" and "reed tone drawbar M", and they had values from 0 to 8, for each of them.
Like the original Vox Continental. http://www.voxshowroom.com/uk/organ/301_OM5.html
Now the new Nord models, like the NE5 or NS3, what happens is that in a "single drawbar" they placed the "fundation tone drawbar ~" and "reed tone drawbar M".
If you put that Drawbar at 0, you will get 8 in "fundation tone drawbar ~", and 0 in "reed tone drawbar M"
If you put that Drawbar at 1, you will get 8 in "fundation tone drawbar ~", and 2 in "reed tone drawbar M"
If you put that Drawbar at 3, you will get 8 in "fundation tone drawbar ~", and 6 in "reed tone drawbar M"
If you put that Drawbar at 4, you will get 8 in "fundation tone drawbar ~", and 8 in "reed tone drawbar M"
If you put that Drawbar at 5, you will get 6 in "fundation tone drawbar ~", and 8 in "reed tone drawbar M"
If you put that Drawbar at 6, you will get 4 in "fundation tone drawbar ~", and 8 in "reed tone drawbar M"
etc...
The increments go two by two, that's why the change is so abrupt.
