Nord Key sounds loud

Post by Pehja »

Hi! Don't know if this has always been, or if it has come now. But it is impossible to record when playing Nord Electro 5 and song at the same time. The Nord make to much noice when playing. I have Nord with weight keys. Is this me or do you have the same experience. Has something changed with my keyboard?

The Stage 2 and Stage 3, I almost never turn up much more than halfway. Their output is really hot.
Same with the Kronos.

Edit: oh, sorry. It appears I misunderstood your question.

@OP: I'm assuming you mean the mechanical sound of the keys leaking into your vocal mic? What kind of mic is it?

My HP Keybed is very noisy. This is a common complaint about this keybed. I notice it playing solo. I recall several threads on the forum on this subject.

Yeah, well most keybeds make a bit of noise. Including my stupidly expensive Bosendorfer. Something I've learned to live with.
I think I have gear issues ....

@Pehja. My new Electro 6 HP has the same issue. My dealer said that sometimes after a while it disappears (?). But he also told that you can reduce the noise by putting some vilt in the case.
He has a certified person that can do that (Netherlands). But I'll wait, because its not that bad, when you play with a headphone like I do.
I think it is with all the Nords. My piano 2 had the same issue.

Felt (in Dutch), anyway the HP (Fatar TP100) keybed is known for its tendency to be noisier than others, mainly due to its mechanical design, with hammers positioned at the top end of the key, which may interfere with the chassis (the price to pay for being lighter than HA, where hammer is under the keyj
