How do I open up a NL2X?
Hey folks.
My Nord Lead 2x, which is in perfect working order, seems to have something loose inside. It's rather disturbing and an incredibly annoying factor when moving it around. It's well beyond warranty period, so I thought I might as well just pop the hood and make a diagnosis. I've removed the screwes that are apparently securing the red cover to the black base, but the cover won't come off in the control panel end, as it seems (to my surprise) that the knobs, buttons and electronics are fastened to the top panel. Will I be going in over my head trying to open up the keyboard, potentially risking to cause injury, or do you guys know how to persuade a reddie like this one?
Niels

there's probably chassis screw(s) on the bottom (underside) like the one show in this picture of the NE3:

I won't comment on whether, or not I think you should open it up.
Cheers, Hanon

There are two screws underneath the synth. If you want to look see http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/02 ... part_2.htm under 2 or http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/02 ... _versa.htm under 4.
It is a easy job to open up the hood. You can find a lot of things in there…
Once we received an Alpha G2 from Stockholm and of course we wanted to see the red lady under her skirt! We found a letter in it reading “Aja Baja! Nita tita!”, which is a childish way to say in Swedish: “No, no, just look, don’t touch!”

One you are there, if you finally open it up, don't forgett to take some pics. They could be useful to other users with similar problems!

Re: How do I open up a NL2X?
Hi guys,
I performed the surgery all right. I'd forgotten to unscrew the two bottom screws - after that it was an easy job. Didn't get to take any photos, sorry - but nothing really turned out to be wrong anyway. Just a pencil inside the chassis. Phew!
Thanks
Niels

Same here! With a used Nord Lead X2 I just bought!
And the best thing is that both the little red beast and the marker work perfectly!
Very happy to own them.

Re: How do I open up a NL2X?
The real question is, how did it get in there? I seem to recall notes inside my NL2 that looked like they were made with a felt marker, so was this actually one of Clavia's pens that was forgotten inside during production???
