Hey guys,
I noticed I'm having real troubles noticing forums that have a new reply just by glancing at the graphic on the left of them.
The difference, right now, between read and unread forums, from a graphic point of view is this:
As you can see only the only difference between the two is the little "text" graphic inside the circle is desaturated. Which is quite hard to spot if you're just skimming through really fast.
My suggestion is a simple one: Make the read graphic completely desaturated, thus making it much easier to spot read/unread forums just at a glance:
Cheers!

Re: Unread/Read forums graphic suggestion
Hi Cee,
thanks for your suggestion! In fact, I never considered those icons which is why I did not think about it but I see your point.
I changed all the read ones to grey as you suggested to see if it works this way. In fact, now it really makes it quite useful, never thouth of it before too much
Thanks and always nice to get some suggestions for improving the forum!!
Cheers
Johannes

Re: Unread/Read forums graphic suggestion
Johannes,
Thanks, that does help with the topics.
But I was actually talking about the forums themselves, not the topics...
See, when you're in a forum, reading topics, if a particular topic has a new reply, there's also that little knob next to it:
Which makes it easy to spot new replies.
But when you're viewing the entire forum, from the portal page or the top forum position, that's where it gets confusing. Like so:
So I guess it wouldn't be much of a hassle to change those as well?
Cheers!

Re: Unread/Read forums graphic suggestion
Ah right I see. But actually I also changed the forum icons. Maybe you need to refresh (STRG+F5) or clear the cache.
On my PC it looks as you proposed with totally grey icons for "read" fora.
Let me know if the problem persists.
For the topics/posts, I still find it easier to follow so if you don't oppose I would leave it there as well.
