New Category CHORDS!

Post by Klangwerk »

Hi guys,

Johannes has created a new category, called Chords.
You will find the new tab added in the Download menu above.
You can up- download songs, chords as pdf/text/doc files.
So feel free to fill the new category.
Thank you Johannes for your effort.
Cheers
Helmuth :thanks:

Can I ask what is the idea of this going forward? Is it for uploading sheet music to fill a database or just peoples own versions/interpretations of song chords?

Will it be sorted somehow once it fills up, alphabetically etc.

Hi Kirsty,

I think it is a good way to share chords that people are looking for. Maybe they want to play a song, there get the sound and now we can offer some chords/ lead sheets as well. What a nice platform.
But of course you should be aware of respecting the copyrights of the owners. So if you upload your own lead sheet/chords you agree that everyone can download and use your chords/sheets.
Thanks
Helmuth

Well - I'm a little unsure if this is a good idea for this forum. Downloadable PDF are to "static" in my opinion.
When I look at the few uploads here I see a mix of chords, sheets and handwritten notes..

Personally for chords I use the "Ultimate Guitar" IPad app - I think I have 500 favorites stored there, and I can really recommend it. You can transpose to your favorite key etc... For sheet music - "MuseScore" got many good scores with playback and transpose possibility...

Thank you very much, NoDirection, for your advice with MuseScore. It looks nice.
About the topic, hm it depends on you what you want and need.
If you have (e.g.) a nice synthbrass sound why should you download another?
Here it is the same point. If someone is looking for it he is happy with it. Nobody is forced to download anything.
If you have found a perfect way for you, keep it. Just my opinion.
Thank You, cheers

I also use ultimate guitar chords but it never gives you the correct position of the chords, it's a bit like the Real Book, you have to listen and sometimes a very long time before you find the right position, if they play the 9th or the 7th and not the root, or if the keys part omits the 3rd and play only the sus4 etc....
Like sound, if we all could find a way to share it and save each and everyone some time, that would be very good...

I agree with Quai34,

it is not a must, it is a bonus.
