Hi,
I've noticed that there appears to be overlap in the content of these two sample libraries. I wonder if any of you more seasoned Nord users could tell me whether ALL of the Archive made it into the Sound Library 2.0 or just some of the samples? I would be very grateful as it would save me from having to download, unzip and compare file contents many times over.....

Re: Sound Library 2.0 vs Archive
Almost all 1.0 sample have been converted to 2.0, with just a few exceptions ( for example the Power Synth subpage which is "apparently" missing but still there https://www.nordkeyboards.com/sound-lib ... wer-synths)

Re: Sound Library 2.0 vs Archive
Thank you for getting back so quickly maxpiano. Is there a list anywhere of the few exceptions that haven't made it over to 2.0? Or do I have to go through each folder on the Archive and compare the contents to what is available on the Sound Library 2.0 (I really hope not....)

Unfortunately there is no list, so... but ... why would you need that? My suggestion is rather: search what you need in the newest library and then, if you can't find it, try the Archive.

Re: Sound Library 2.0 vs Archive
My understanding is that in the early sample days close attention was not being paid to optimizing audio files, trimming useless audio at the beginnings/ends of some files to conserve space. The 2.0 library sounds which are duplicated from the archive have presumably been optimized in this and similar manners.
On a similar note, 3.0 samples are not "better" than 2.o samples audio-wise. The 3.0 spec adds metadata which can then be used by Nord Sound Manager, and by the instrument, for the purpose of providing better organizational capability. The actual audio content is the same as found in parallel 2.0 samples.
Bless, Pablo

yes, at download time if the target synth supports v3 it does.
