Greetings, fellow Nord Wave users. Ok, so my issue regards the sample library in which I can load/unload sounds on and off the keyboard. They're all collected under "Mellotron samples" channel or something, and the point of annoyance is that the default cello sound *always* is in the background, even when I push the granite control to the top where only the active sample should be heard. I hope there is a way to avoid this? Because I can't fathom the design if there isn't...
Regards,
Revan

Re: Nord Wave Samples
not fully understanding the question...? Cello always in the background? Mod wheel to the top? The mod wheel will do different things in different programs according to what it has bee programmed to do. And as I recall from a detailed study I did when I bought my Wave nearly six years ago (entering all 8 banks of 128 programs each into database structure I built for the purpose) the Mellotron Cello is the ONLY sample which is not actually used in any factory program on that instrument.
glad to help if I can better understand the question
bless, pablo

Re: Nord Wave Samples
Thanks for the reply, Pablo. Excuse my vague formulation. My sample sounds (that you can upload or delete with the Nord Sound Manager on your computer, as you know) are all collected under "MellotronLayerXT", Acoustic, 1:82. You switch between the samples with the OSC2 lever, and it has 53 available slots. The thing is, the samples must have the mod wheel (the granite lever) turned all the way up to be heard; as you turn it down, a cello sound increasingly takes over, and it's heard in the background even as the mod wheel is turned all the way up, so there's a dual-sound going on and apparently no way of getting rid of the cello, which is pretty annoying. How do your samples work on your Nord Wave, and how does the mod wheel affect them?
Curious that the Cello was the only one to not be used.

Re: Nord Wave Samples
Probably (just guessing) you are using a patch which has a volume morph between the 2 slots of the Wave, of which one has te Cello sound, associated with the ModWheel...
Start from a Init (blank) program instead and... study the Wave manual carefully, to understand its structure!
