Long time A1 and A1R user here, and I'm seriously interested in the Wave 2. But I'm wondering what scope there is for using it as a master keyboard, triggering some MIDI modules alongside internal sounds.
Anyone with a Wave 2 already, is there any facility for one side of a keyboard split (or perhaps an individual layer) to transmit on its own separate MIDI channel? Or is there just one global transmit channel (as on the A1).
It's a shame there doesn't seem to be a PDF manual available to download yet - I'm sure this would answer the question.
Thank you!

Seems they are all to busy playing their new toy and have no time to answer you
Re: Nord Wave 2 early owners - how's the MIDI out?
I'm thinking to buy one, but i'm not really sure is it worth it...
Cause, only one stereo out, 1 gb for sound library, and also many questions "why wave 2". I'm Stage 3 owner, but pianos/organs bring confidence, and synth module is a great bonus for me. But Wave 2 is synth... I couldn't found any video by real users with pros and cons.

I have mine, but I haven't yet messed with the MIDI portion so I can't provide an informed answer. Sorry.

Can you describe your impression of it, please?
How are flexible FM and wavetable engines? Do you miss seamless transitions?

I'm very much a novice to the synth world so I can't really give advice relevant to whether it meet someone's gigging needs or how well it will compare to other synths.
I know for me, the interface is intuitive and preferable to the menu diving MODX I've previously used. The sound is preferable as well. Editing/Creating Virtual Analog sounds was pretty straight forward. I'm going to experiment with sample, wavetable and FM synthesis a bit later. I can tell you this instrument, at this point, possesses more ability than I do. I'm learning while I use it and I'm quite satisfied with it.

Hi, MD-
Can the layer volume levels be morphed? I would be very interested to know. I saw a video in which it appeared they could.
Did you receive a printed owners manual? Is there a link to the electronic version? Thanks for any input you can have.

Re: Nord Wave 2 early owners - how's the MIDI out?
I've received mine today, nice synth, the interface is very intuitive indeed.
Software version is 0.84, so I think there will be an update in the near future, but I did not encounter any problems so far.
In answer to the questions:
1. Is there any facility for one side of a keyboard split (or perhaps an individual layer) to transmit on its own separate MIDI channel? Or is there just one global transmit channel (as on the A1). As far as I've find out, it sends midi via 1 global midi send channel (channel can be changed), but the is no split for the different layers. For midi-in its different, the layers can be controlled via 4 different midi channels, or one global channel (tested). See also attachment, which contain photographed parts about midi from the users manual.
2. Can the layer volume levels be morphed? Yes, this is possible.
3. Did you receive a printed owners manual? Yes, I did, but I haven't looked into it in detail yet (intuitive interface )
4. Is there a link to the electronic version? As far as I know, not (yet).

Interesting. My software version is 0.80. I'm wondering when software updates will be put online.
