Good day,
my explanation might be wrong as I am a beginner in playing NS 3.
I'm looking for a brass sound/sample with a crescendo effect: When I'm playing a chord, the sound should start quietly and the longer I press the key, the louder the sound should be. I hope you understand what I'm talking about.
Thanks for your help!
Best regards,
Janni

Re: Searching for NS Brass sound
Best and easiest solution to control the sound with the right timing I think is to do a morph controlled by the expression pedal or aftertouch, rather than doing it with, for example the attach time.

Re: Searching for NS Brass sound
There are amazing Brass sounds on my Korg with crescendo. I would recommend you find a synth or keyboard which has the sound you like and then sample it. I will eventually get around to sampling my Korg. If we keep controlling various layered sounds with controls/knobs, we'll have no hands left to actually play!

Re: Searching for NS Brass sound
You also have the flexibility of having two synths to work with. If I was looking for this sound and didn't need a second synth for any other other sound, I would use one slot to cover the initial attack you want to hear of the note being played, and use the other slot to cover to crescento using a combination of the amp and filter attack/decay because the brass sound should get "brighter" as it gets louder. As the settings to achieve that effect may not match what you may want for the initial note played, you can mix the two synths to get what you are looking for. If you decide to take the approach suggested by Mr_-G-, the morph could be applied to the LEVEL and FREQ to get the effect of the sound getting brighter as it gets louder. Take care.
