Piano and Rhodes sample
Hi everyone!
very often in this forum we talk about artificial sounds and keyboard effects but today Im here for more
I've been using Nord for a long time but I still struggle to find a piano and Rhodes sound that can be the final one (for the moment)
I currently play jazz and funky Music, so these two instruments are very important for success. I was wondering if any of you had a Piano and Rhodes sound that are very proud of , and if you had the pleasure of sharing it.
thank you all
Alex

Re: Piano and Rhodes sample
Hi Alex and welcome to NUF.
Nord Piano Library samples are many and according to feedbacks are good enough for most users (we have also some threads with surveys or discussion like this one for example general-nord-forum-f29/it-s-that-time-a ... 22485.html) even if on Rhodes many ask for improvements as well, but so far no news.
Since Nord Piano section has no possibility to load user samples, the Nord Piano Library is all you can get, so you need to learn how to create your own Programs that fit your taste and most of all the audio system (Headphones, Monitors, Speakers) that you are using and that can make a great difference. Have you tried to work with Piano SectionEQ, Effects AmpSim/EQ to tailor existing Factory Programs to your needs or create brand new Programs?
For example, browsing some Factory Programs of my ex-NE6 I learned how to use a very short Ping-Pong Delay (20-24ms, Feedback to 1 and Mix to 0.5) to create a better stereo image when playing through the headphones, which works particularly well with Acoustic Pianos, but at the same time is not as effective when using speakers so in that case I usually switch it off.
PS: and there is no "final one", our ears get used to a sound even when it is good enough and keep asking for more all the time... so sometimes it is also the case to just play and forget about it.

Re: Piano and Rhodes sample
I have converted (to Stage 2) the Rhodes programs found in the Stage 3 "Ondre collection".
Few sounds but I find them really nice ! Hope you also find the one you like :

Re: Piano and Rhodes sample
I was going to suggest those collections too actually, but from his profile the OP seem to own Nord Grand and Nord Piano 5 so I am afraid he can't use them (or he'd need a conversion to those 2 models format)cookie wrote:I have converted (to Stage 2) the Rhodes programs found in the Stage 3 "Ondre collection".

Re: Piano and Rhodes sample
In general programs are incompatible between different Nord keyboards (because they have a different structure each) and so there is no software to convert themAbbalabba88 wrote:Thanks a lot for yours pleasure answers.

The only way to try to "convert" that NS2 program it is to use the NS2/3 Program Viewer (made by a clever forumer) nord-stage-forum-f3/ns3-program-viewer-t19939.html and read the parameters then try to replicate on the NG and NP5.
