Aha! probably a multilayer sample type....Seems that a stage4 or electro7 will turn up soon. Just hoping this new feature will not raise the prices even higher than they already are.

Something that Ive been thinking, some day in the future the stage 3 will be obsolete for the Nord support, maybe will take 20 years, but for that price you´d think your board will last more than you do

This is "higher price = infinite expectations" is something I read often and still don't understand, what does it mean "for that price you'd think your board will last more than you do"? Hope you are not serious... What was the price of a Yamaha Motif ES8 (just as an example) and how long did the official support for it last? Or what about the cost of a Fairlight CMI (at the times) or even just an Emulator II? How long did they last?
Electronic keyboards obsolescence (at least from an official support standpoint) is fast, just like any digital apparatus, but the advantage is that you can still play them regardless, staying within Nords for instance I see older NS Classic/EX are still being played and have their resale market, even if they don't support any .nsmp at all.
The advent of .nsp4 to me is anyway "good news", we will see what it is about and I if at least the latest models already issued (NS3, NE6, NG) will get some update to support it.

Re: Nord Sample Editor 3.12 available
The marketing text for the Piano 5 states:
"The Sample Synth Section is based on an entirely new format ...
The new sample format in the Piano 5 offers several exciting new features. Unison creatively blends several sample voices for rich, ensemble-like sounds, “Tru-Vibrato” accurately models the unique vibrato characteristics of a wide variety of wind, brass and string instruments and round robin allows natural sounding fast repetitions. In addition synth sounds are available as monophonic samples with legato. Three delay settings optimized for both acoustic instruments and analog synth sounds are available."
Doesn't sound like multi-layer. But exciting. Round robin sounds was one of my ideas for a Stage 4.

Cool that the Sample Editor is already set up to handle the new format. Wondering if the Stage 3 EX will move to this with an OS upgrade for all, or whether we'll have to wait for the Stage 4 (maybe skip the EX with there being more synth competition out there?).
