Hello, I need a layered sample for my Nord Electro 5d. Perhaps anyone could help me!?
I would like to combine a string-sample and a choir-sample for an ELO-Song, but - as we all know - a Nord Electro 5d isn't constructed for this use.
Please don't (!) give me the hint, to sell the Electro and buy a Electro 6 oder Stage 3. I know this possibility!
I only want to know, if there is a possibillity (perhaps a special workaround or a software) to implement this with my NE5.
in worst case, I will use my Kurzweil Forte ...
Thanks a lot!
Thomas

Re: Need a layered sample
Hello! The only way to achieve this without going for another instrument is to record a few notes (the same ones) of each sample separately (preferably without effects) with a silent interval between them, mix them in an audio editing software, export the mix as a wav file and create another sample using the sample editor. Then just load the new sample, add some effects and you are ready to go. It will take some time working, especially when it comes to adjust the loop points, but if you are not in a hurry I think it's worth trying. Good luck!

Yes, thank you, this way my idea, too! I think, the nord sample-Editor could merge to wav-files, too.
But there is a special problem: the choir-sounds sound in a upper region of the keyboard like boys (or women), in the lower region like man.
So I think, this behavior could not be "constructed".

Re: Need a layered sample
I think you can do it - record boys and girls voices separately and mix both of them individually with the string sound into two wav files. You then can use sample editor to assign the wav file with the boys voices and strings to the lower part of the keyboard and the other one to the higher part, then make it a sample

Re: Need a layered sample
Unfortunately the Nord Sample Editor does not at this time 'reverse engineer' .nsmp files into .wav files. Otherwise it would be a snap to layer samples to create new ones or use existing samples to create Splits.
