How to see if samples are in use

Postby Adesculpture » 13 Jun 2019, 21:20

I just got a wave and loving it very much. Starting to put together a library in the keyboard so I needed to delete patches to make room for my new ones. However, I can't tell which samples I can delete as there seems to be no way to tell which sample is used with which patch.....

ok, just found that it cant be done :(

I got mine a couple of months ago, amazing instrument but the issue you are talking about is very annoying indeed...if you replace or move a sample by accident you may have a completely different sound. The only solution I have found is to keep an excel document with the name of the program and the samples per slot. If I wanted to write down everything in the factory presets it would take a lot of time, so I just do it for the patches I create. I keep this excel file in the same directory with my samples for easy access. I wish clavia will consider this problem if they release a NW2 in the future....

In Nord Sound Manager you can use the "Info" feature to see that, see NSM manual 7.3, page 8

INFO
activating Info brings up an information area to the right of the list.

The Info area will show if a selected piano or a sample is used in any Programs, or what pianos and samples are used in any selected Programs. This provides you with an excellent way of keeping track of how the content components in the nord instrument depends on each other.

In the Samp Lib tab samples should also show "Unused" in their Note field, which you can sort when in Organize mode (so you will have all unused at the top/bottom of the list)

It works for my NS2 but I don't have a NW to test.

Thanx for the info, I will check it as soon as possible. I don't have the latest version though, both E4 and NW are quite old models and they work fine with 7.22 version I have installed. Maybe I should update first...

Please note: the INFO function was added to the feature set long after the Wave's creation -- INFO function is not available on the Wave
