My very first contribution!
When I entered the Nord ecosystem, I couldn't find a string sound I liked. All the modern string sounds in the NSL have uncomfortably short loops. I preferred the unlooped Mellotron and Chamberlin solo strings to any of the other strings, but of course each patch is limited to 35 keys … and unlooped. So, I resampled my Electro through my Clarett, mapped five-and-a-half octaves of tape solo strings (C1 to F6), and used Melodyne to cheat my way up to C7.
Frankly, I'm disappointed that Nord Sample Editor doesn't even provide a way to move encoded samples between .nsmp files (I'm not trying to pirate your content, dummies … I'm trying to make use of having only one sample synth slot!), but whatever. DRM is Clavia's prerogative, for better or for worse. As a legit Nord customer, I welcome the demolishment of "anti-piracy" measures.
Meantime, here's my iteration with slight generation loss due to the necessary A/D/A round trip. This sounds good in the Electro, and great in the Stage if you morph volume (-inf to 0dB) and filter cutoff (800 Hz to 12 kHz) with expression pedal.
