Still Warm Pad Patches needed

Post by seratone »

I'm looking for some warm pads for my Electro 4, similar that can be heard in Bruce Springsteen's (Ghost of Tom Joad) and Mark Knopfler's songs in .Nsmp format.

My Yamaha Motif has 'Analog' and my E-Mu Vintage Pro has a great patch called 'Shade Pad', I believe my old Kord X5d had something actually called 'Warm Pad'....something along these lines, Amient, Full

What about sampling the instruments you already have?

Excuse me for my lack of hands on experience with the Nord - I didn't really realize I could do that! I'm pretty intent on getting the tones that I want, but I've never really edited my patches other than reducing attack etc.

Where would the best place to start be regarding a tutorial?

I have a NS2, not the electro 4. I believe that your instrument supports the sample library as well as the piano library.
If you can load nsmp files, then:
Get a copy of Audacity to record 1 short note in each octave in your instrument (any other audio recording program would do).
Download the sample manager software from the Nord site and follow the tutorials from there.
Then, if you come up with a nice sample and you want to share with the other fellow Nord-ers, you can also do that ;)

Have you taken a look at the post "MODERN PADS COLLECTION" ?
I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.
