Using Sound Manager for NS4 and NS2

Post by Balou »

Hi folks,

I recently upgraded from my Nord Stage 2 to an Nord Stage 4.
Right now, I‘m recreating my programs one by one.
Is there a way to access both keyboards with the sound manager at the same time?
For instance, when trying to transfer a sample which is used in NS2, I need to download it to my Mac and then upload this sample on the NS4. My current way is to connect/disconnect each keyboard and starting sound manager again.

Looking forward for any help!

Nope. Only one Nord at a time. NSM can’t handle more than one.

I’d recommend finding all you need on the NS2 and uploading those things in batches to your computer vs. one at a time for an easier workflow.

If you have 2 computers (with both NSM installed and a Nord connected to each of them), you could download the sample of the NS2 into a dropbox/onedrive/etc folder and on the second computer upload that to the NS4 from that synced folder.

That or (if transferring one way and with no further modification to the source, NS2 in this case): do a full backup of the NS2 and diconnect it, rename backup file to .zip and unzip it so you get all the individual piano and synth samples in their respective folder, from where they can be loaded individually into the NS4 as needed (which is what I myself did when I bought the NS3 and had to redo some NS2 programs of mine, the help of the NS2/3 File Viewer app was also fundamental https://ns3-program-viewer.cyclic.app/)
