I am currently using an iPad to send program changes to my Nord Stage 2 via the USB port. I now have a Behringer XR16 mixer and I want to know if it is possible to use the Stage 2 to mute or change the level of FX for a channel on my XR16 mixer. Is anyone using the Nord to control their XAIR mixer?
Thanks,
Dale

Re: Use Stage 2 to mute FX on Xair mixer
I don't own a X-Air mixer but its manual clearly specifies the CCs applicable, see https://media63.music-group.com/media/P ... s_M_EN.pdf page 31, so all you have to do is use the Extern Section to send the required CC (for example the 4 Send Mutes CCs are 27-30 and are received on Ch 2, of course with each Extern Section you can send 1 at a time)

Re: Use Stage 2 to mute FX on Xair mixer
Thanks. I'm making some progress. I set the Extern Midi Mode to Program, and set Slot A to channel 1, and CC# to 17. I then assigned Morph to Wheel. This allowed me to change the level of FX send though a certain range.
I then set Slot B to channel 2, and CC# to 17. If I then choose Slot B and enable Extern, I can use the Parameter knob to turn the FX on or off. Strangely enough, if I have Slot B selected and the FX is not muted, I can still use the morphed wheel to adjust the level of FX. I would have thought I needed to switch from Slot B to Slot A, but I did not need to.
I was thinking that I could play a key in a selected zone to change the FX, but apparently CC changes are only activated via the Parameter knob.
I was also hoping that I could mute/change FX on a particular mic channel, but I don't see how. So the FX is muted/changed for all of my mic channels.
The exact scenario is that a trio I am playing with is doing Pink Floyd's "Great Gig in the Sky" and I needed the vocalist to have very heavy reverb until the end of the song when all the reverb is turned off as she "sings" the last verse. Since I am playing piano I wanted a method of increasing the reverb at the beginning of the song and turning it off at the end. This should work. And without having to purchase a MIDI footswitch which was my other option.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

The CCs you are using work at FX bus level so they affect all channels sending audio to FX, there doesn't seem to be CS to change the send level (of a given input channel) but maybe there are other routing options in the X-Air to allow that (e.g. routing the FX sends to Aux? Not sure anyway)
