Transferring programs to another Nord
I own a Nord Stage 3, 76 notes, and need to use specific programs I have created on a similar model abroad. Will it be possible to also transfer sounds to a Nord Stage 2, in the event they do not have the 3?
My second question for Nord is, are you thinking of making this process simpler? For example, it would be most convenient if I could just take along a USB stick with the programs on a bundle and plug this into the back of the other Nord unit. Instead, I have to take along a laptop and use Nord Sound Manager.

You can't transfer sounds across different models, such as NS3 and NS2.

Thanks for the speedy reply Max. That's frustrating!
I wonder what Nord has to say on the subject.

Probably something like, "You can't transfer sounds across different models, such as NS3 and NS2."Don Barima wrote:I wonder what Nord has to say on the subject.

This has alredy been discussed many times, you may find some pretty extensive threads by searching.Don Barima wrote:Thanks for the speedy reply Max. That's frustrating!

The fact is that even if they share the "Nord Stage" in the name and the basic concepts/structure, the NS Classic/EX then the NS 2/2EX and finally the NS3 have a lot of differences (just think about the synth section or even just the Organ/Leslie modeling); so even if technically it would be feasible to write a software that would partially "adapt" the patches (using only common parameters with some mapping/scaling) they would not sound the same anyway...
Otherwise, if I could play a NS3 patch on a NS2, why should I buy a NS3??

Re: Transferring programs to another Nord
Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere; it isn't so easy to find. Nonetheless, I assume it is possible to transfer NS3 HP76 to same and to the 88 note model.

Re: Transferring programs to another Nord
No issues transferring between different models of Stage 3. And yes, laptop with sound manager the only way.
I am about to have the same issue, as likely to be doing a tour in Germany at some point and hoping to hire a Stage 3 88. Will need to drag my laptop with me to transfer the setups for the tour. Wish Nord would do an ipad version!! (That one's been discussed a lot here, but don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen, unfortunately!)

This is why I love the Nord Forums. One of my subscribers asked this question tonight and it was an easy search here on the forums. I'll point him to this thread.

I totally agree: this application was totally developed "in-house" in this forum, with no contribution from Clavia, and it's AWESOME!!! It really makes managing Stage 2 and 3 programs much easier and better.cookie wrote:This now might help : https://ns3-program-viewer.herokuapp.com/
Also, I'd like to remind another recent achievement of this community, the Nord User Sounds website, an unofficial library of user-developed sounds and programs.

This place ROCKS!
