Yes, it work with pedal noise, and the noise are adjustable (and velocity sensitive), even the half pedaling work, but only very close to the bottom, so for that part, it are useless for me.

I original bought it because of the half pedal function for my Kronos, but the function was also ( for me) useless on that board.

A standard continuous sustain pedal will never work 100% as a replacemente of the NTP, unless modified to introduce at least a switch to make it fully open-circuit when released.

Hi guys,

thanks to some guys (especially patchi) who checked out the inside functionality of the Nord Triple Pedal (NTP),
my solution for practical stage work is the following:

For me, the NTP was a bit bulky and I was´t using Sostenuto and Soft Pedal functions intensively.
But what I would have liked to use, was the half pedal function and - as a nice gimmick -, the pedal noise.

The DP8 and DP10 are pretty much the same solid quality pedals for about 40€.
Both with a nice little switching/continuous operation mode switch which can easily
change the pedal into an ordinary sustain or e.g. rotor switch.
The DP 10 has a rubber lip/rug on the bottom to avoid it from slipping away.

I´ve thought about the technical stuff and modified my Roland DP 8 /10 in that way to
swap the ring and sleeve wires inside the pedal. This is a very simple soldering job.
In an UNmodified DP8/10 it´s changing from 0 to 10k bewteen tip and sleeve and behaves just the upside down way you´d want it to.
After modification the resistor value between tip and sleeve is now changing from 10k to 0.

TS values 10k to 0
TR values 0 to 10k
RS value is constantly 10k

Now, due to my taste, it works/sounds perfectly, as I wanted it to.
Set the NS3 to NTP mode, adjust the pedal noise the intensity you like.
Half pedaling is happening in just one gradation, not in 3 like with the NTP.
But that´s sufficient for me. I like it.

About 4/5 pressed, the half pedaling is on, 5/5 and you have plain sustain.
You can even stomp on it or release it quickly to have some different pedal noises.
Maybe some of you like that, too,

Korg DS1 H does work with pedal noise. I prefer this over the original single Nord pedal, as it are a bit heavier, and stay in place.
It also seem to give the half damper function, but I have never been used to that function, as it is hard to control, and find the exact point.

I received my DS1 H today and Pedal noise is working !

I wonder if in the resting pedal position the potentiometer should have infinite resistance to emulate the open state of the triple pedal (for example by coating the first part of the carbon track with some insulation/paint).

Or by putting an open-at-rest switch in series, positioned to have a high enough activation point, on pedals having both the pot and a switch (open-at-rest type) this should be easy to do.

I can guarantee you that the DS1H will make pedal noise. However it seems like it's only one volume and probably louder than I expected. Also the effective range of the pedal happens pretty deep into it's travel, something I'll have to get used to. Definitely an improvement over the included pedal but I've never played the triple pedal so I can't compare to that.
