Sustain pedal issue with VSTs

Hello to everybody. I'm writing for an help request: since about two weeks ago , the sustain pedal I use with my Nord Stage 2- connected to Cubase Elements 8 via usb- doesn't work. Each time I press the pedal, I can see midi data received from Cubase but, on any Vst instrument I load, it doesn't have sustain effect. Do you have any suggestion? Thank you very much !

So if the pedal works in the NS2 and is received as MIDI data in Cubase, maybe the vst instruments do not support the sustain (unlikely) or you have set some MIDI filter to ignore it? Really this does not seem to be a problem with your Nord, but the receiver (Cubase/softsynths) issue.

Correct + check the MIDI channel on which that sustain message is sent/received; besides: are you using the NS Extern Section or its Global Channel? I recommend to use the Extern as it gives you more flexibility on the Nord Stage side, check the NS Midi Tutorial (link available on this forum home page) for more details.

Hello,thank you very much for your help!
I think we've fixed the problem.
As you suggested the problem was inside cubase settings. After a few checks I've found out that, in Device Settings, Nord Stage was wrongly set as midi device for quick midi controls and this was in some way interfereing with normal data receiving!
