Stereo pan on Stage 4?
Stereo pan on Stage 4?
New Stage 4 user here, and brand new to Nord.
Is there a way to stereo pan a layer (or section, or anything?) by frequency? ie send low frequencies (at whatever cutoff) to the left channel, and highs to the right? Even if the cutoff isn't configurable, is there a means to do this?
Thanks in advance!

Hello and welcome to NUF
No, there is no such a thing on NS4 and any other Nord keyboard afaik (curiosity: which other keyboard you know has that feature?)

Re: Stereo pan on Stage 4?
It is possible to pan synth layers individually to the left and right, which might allow you to do something similar. Press Shift and layer C button, then keep layer c button pressed and the layer faders will adjust left to right pan for each synth part. Sadly this can't be used to affect the balance of the piano layers though. HTH

Re: Stereo pan on Stage 4?
So you what you are looking for is a crossover filter? Only way this can be done is panning layers to left and right, and applying a low pass / high pass to them. Even this solution is far from perfect, because the LF and HF outputs are sourced from separate engines, so you wont get perfect copies of them. No global solution available.

No other keyboard I know of. Once upon a time I had a stereo guitar rig with a stereo harmonic tremolo that did just this and it was amazing. Sounds like an outboard effect will be the solution.maxpiano wrote:Hello and welcome to NUF

Yea I suppose it would be a crossover filter, thanks for the clarifying term. It definitely sounds like this will be an external solution. Thanks!Elias wrote:So you what you are looking for is a crossover filter? Only way this can be done is panning layers to left and right, and applying a low pass / high pass to them.
