Stage 3 music stand
Sitting here (im)patiently awaiting delivery of my new Nord Stage 3 Compact. Browsing through the available accessories page on the Nord site. REALLY like the music stand, scroll down, and it only fits the 88 and 76 models. I mean, WTF? How hard would it have been to add a couple of fittings to the back of the compact? Black mark for Nord.

Re: Stage 3 music stand
This has been well known for a long time. Likely to do with the internal placement of components which are shared between the models and the limited length of the Compact case (the folding stand also does not support that model).

No, I hadn't seen it, but read it with interest, thanks.
The fact that there are no brackets fitted to the back of the compact cuts your options down when trying to make an alternative. I'm not sure how much weight the screws into the case would bear, I don't want to damage my $$$$$$$$$ brand new Stage!!

Re: Stage 3 music stand
I am the one in the other thread that posted about using the back screws for a music stand. I should have some "L" brackets here someplace. When I find them I will put them on my NS and mount the music stand I made. I am very confident it will work without breaking anything. Already decided to use double-stick mounting tape which will add extra support and keep the metal bracket from scratching the red finish.Six-string-man wrote:No, I hadn't seen it, but read it with interest, thanks.

Re: Stage 3 music stand
I will be interested to see the pics Phun Tunes. My worry is not just the weight of the stand. Once you throw a 13 inch iPad Pro on there, and a couple of fake books.......

Re: Stage 3 music stand
If you're going to put all that on the stand, why not use a proper dedicated music stand anyway, then? Music stand attachments for many keyboard stands are easily had for very little money and are often more customizable than what you'd get with a stock or DIY nord-attached stand anyway.

Re: Stage 3 music stand
In my case currently, I am using my NS in my bedroom in front of my TV. I have several music stands but there is no floor room between the NS & the TV (or really the TV stand) so only way it works. I have the same problem in my studio. Floor space is at a premium. I was putting the NS on the bottom of the Z-stand and a cheap Yamaha PSR above just because the Yamaha has a music stand. Having a music stand on any keyboard always has benefits. Really do not understand why the do not have the music stand mounts on all Nord keyboards. And also offer a smaller stand than the huge one.23skidoo wrote:If you're going to put all that on the stand, why not use a proper dedicated music stand anyway, then?
