Stage 3 Edit "E" is always on the screen
After the latest software update it seems that the Edit "E" is always on the screen, and even flickers a bit. Very strange. No matter what I do, it doesn't go away like it used to after you edited and saved. Just wondering if anyone else is having that problem. I guess it isn't really a "problem" because it doesn't appear to alter the sound(s) in any way. For me it is more annoying that anything. I'm sure it is probably some bug that was introduced. Thanks for any insight into this.

Re: Stage 3 Edit "E" is always on the screen
Most likely, this means that a controller potmeter is not stable. So after loading, the values is changed slightly en gives the 'E' as the patch is edited.
Might be tricky to find out which controller it is. Just fiddle with all knobs.
Perhaps you van see what parameter is changed in the display, that give away the knob that is causing the issue.
Good luck.

Re: Stage 3 Edit "E" is always on the screen
Is your Stage 3 the Compact version?
Whatever the cause of this issue is, it seems a bit more frequent on Compact models. Perhaps it's a drawbar that flickers and triggers the "edit" to be shown.
By the way, this bug was allegedly introduced with 2.60 but then fixed with 2.62. I did not experience anything with my Stage 3 (88 version) even when running 2.60 (and I did for a good 2 months or more, before flashing 2.62), but maybe for the Compact version it makes a difference.
Are you running 2.60 or 2.62?

Re: Stage 3 Edit "E" is always on the screen
In the synth window I have an "E" that seems to turn on when moving from one program to another that each use a synth preset, but not when the first program is using a synth created from scratch and not saved as a preset. I thought the "E" was showing whenever the programmed synth was different than the preset it was based upon, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Re: Stage 3 Edit "E" is always on the screen
New Nord Stage 3 Compact 73 owner here! May I also share my experience. It's not there when I first turn on the board and play the first program, but once I switch to another one, then the "E' appears on main and the synth screen. Then it's on there for the duration the board is on.ScooterMac wrote:After the latest software update it seems that the Edit "E" is always on the screen, and even flickers a bit. Very strange. Re: Stage 3 Edit "E" is always on the screen
Are you sure you change the programs (i.e. with the program button, so that you get from A:11 to A:12 or the like)? What happens if you use the Program dial to change programs?

I actually get the same behaviour, regardless if I switch programs by turning program dial or by program button.FZiegler wrote:Are you sure you change the programs (i.e. with the program button, so that you get from A:11 to A:12 or the like)? Re: Stage 3 Edit "E" is always on the screen
I wondered if anyone had managed to find a solution to the Edit E not disappearing?randymsantaana wrote:I actually get the same behaviour, regardless if I switch programs by turning program dial or by program button.FZiegler wrote:Are you sure you change the programs (i.e. with the program button, so that you get from A:11 to A:12 or the like)? For me, the E appears on certain user sample based sounds that I've made. It is still there after powering off / turning on again.
I've tried moving one or two dials, saving, moving to other sounds and back again, but the E doesn't disappear.
The keyboard (Stage 3) all works / sounds brilliantly in every other respect, it's just disconcerting and makes me think sounds have not been saved when they have!

Had missed this post. I found the same thing a while ago. It must be a software bug.WannitBBBad wrote:In the synth window I have an "E" that seems to turn on when moving from one program to another that each use a synth preset, but not when the first program is using a synth created from scratch and not saved as a preset. This was in fact the only time I got a reply from Clavia support for having reported a bug.
In any case, this is very different than the use case described, where flickering pots, buttons or drawbars cause the system to think some parameter has been adjusted.
