Stage 2 and Cubase 7 (program changing)
Hi
Now spent a good 2 hours trying to get Cubase 7 to send program changes
It recognises the patches within a bank but will not switch the bank itself A,B,C, D
Anyone using Cubase 7 that can tell me how to do this?T
The Bank Select box on the Channel strip seems to do nothing?
Thanks!

Re: Stage 2 and Cubase 7 (program changing)
I don't own a Stage 2, but checking with the MIDI Implementation chart (manual chapter 13 page 59), it makes no mention of Bank Select. It may be that the Stage 2 simply doesn't respond to Bank Select. It might be an idea to fire an email to Clavia and ask them about this, unless anyone else here knows for sure.

Re: Stage 2 and Cubase 7 (program changing)
In the NS2, you have 4 banks with pages (1 to 20) and programs (1 to 5) and the ProgChng should address all those.
The $bank is 00, 01, 02 or 03 (for A-D)
The $prog =(Page-1)*5+(Program-1)
For MIDI channel 1 (bytes b0 [twice] and c0 below) the whole sequence is:
b0 00 00 b0 20 $bank c0 $prog
edit: there was a missing 00 after b0 00

As Mr_G said, you need to select the Bank in Cubase 7 (MSB=0, LSB=0-3 according to bank A-D you want to select)
Additional info: the Live Buffers can also be selected by PC 100-104 (bank is not required/relevant in this case, just use 0)

Re: Stage 2 and Cubase 7 (program changing)
Hi..thsi is where I am at....
In the Navigationr Channel strip there are 2 slots to enter the Patch Selection
Bank Select and Program number
The Program, Number works fine
So if the Stage 2 is on Bank C it will change the sounds within Bank C all ok ...and yes it will go into the LIVE buffers too
I put 1-3 in the Bank Select and nothing happens to change the Bank itself

Re: Stage 2 and Cubase 7 (program changing)
You must send Bank + PC together, also check when/how Cubase actually sends them (I guess when starting the track or loading the project, but I don't use Cubase so cannot help in the details here) and if Bank Selection is enabled (on Mainstage and Logic, for example, it must be explicitly enabled)

Re: Stage 2 and Cubase 7 (program changing)
Just checking...the programs changes work, the Bank select is not working
Is there any SYSTEMS setting on the Nord that can switch BANK SELECT off but still allow changes within the current bank on?
The Cubase forum seem to think it should all work using 0,1,2,3 as the Bank...but I cannot get it to do so

If you input the sequence as i wrote above, it should work fine. Can you send that sequence of bytes in cubase7.

Hi mr G.. yes I tried that and put 0 (then tried 1,2,3 as well) into the Bank Select box on the track inspector and it still did not work...have you done this in Cubase 7 ?

What is that setting "off" on the right? If it is the Bank MSB, set it to 0
PS: and why is the MIDI Output apparently set on the MicrosoftGSWavetable Synth?
