Hi folks - when i try and save sounds as a backup file in sound manager for my nord stage 2 HA76, it seems only to show me what is in the keyboard presently. Then when i disconnect the keyboard from the computer, the file shows up as empty and says it must be connected to the keyboard . What am i doing wrong?
thanks in advance-
dave

Re: sound manager difficulties
The backup file isn't stored in Sound Manager, the file is simply saved to hard drive like any other file. Thus you'll never see the backup file's contents displayed in Sound Manager itself. Sound Manager is simply the tool for passing the backup/restore data from the keyboard to hard drive and vice versa.
The data you see displayed in Sound Manager is always the data currently in the keyboard, so everything is working as it should.

Re: sound manager difficulties
In other words, Nord Sound Manager is essentially a window to the internal memory of the instrument. When you are looking at the screen in Nord Sound Manager, you are not looking at the contents of the program, you are looking at the contents of the instrument. If no instrument is connected to the computer, there's nothing to see.

Re: sound manager difficulties
so there is no way to save and reload a whole nother series of sounds or banks? the sound manager really just works as a way to move things around externally to move things back in to the nord?
thanks

Re: sound manager difficulties
Of course you can save and reload different sounds or sound banks. That's what the Sound Manager is for. You save sounds from the Nord to your hard drive using the Sound Manager, and you reload sounds from your hard drive to your Nord the same way. The Sound Manager actually has several different ways of doing this depending on exactly what you need to do. Perhaps you're thinking that it works like a traditional sound librarian? If so, that's not how it works. It has its own way of doing things and it doesn't manage sounds stand-alone. You might want to carefully re-read the Sound Manager's user manual to get a better grasp of how it works.davekeyes wrote:so there is no way to save and reload a whole nother series of sounds or banks? the sound manager really just works as a way to move things around externally to move things back in to the nord?
