Repeated notes on organs + overall keybed feel - NS3 hp76

Postby RodolfoSalgueiro » 14 Jan 2021, 19:01

Hey, guys

A few things I've noticed in my NS3 hp76 and maybe you can help me clarify whether it's about the keybed or my keyboard itself.

- repeated notes on organ or synth sounds if playing staccato or just a little bit quicker (mostly noticeable upon release);
- clunky sound on some keys, generally the middle section;

These are the most noticeable things I assume are due to the keybed (tp100, I guess?)

Just wanted to know if anyone has experienced something similar more recently and if they were able to fix it somehow.

Cheers,

Rodolfo

Can't answer for the clunky keys, but the double note phenomenon does happen if you set the key trigger point on "high". I believe it's a short "bouncing" that weighted keys tend to do on some occasions, and they can't but send two MIDI messages... Setting the key trigger point to "low" should cure the issue but it will be a bit less comfortable to play perhaps.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't know about this setting. I did do it but I noticed little in the way of reducing the repeated sound.

I'm posting two videos here to show what's happening. If I do the same with a piano sound, I don't get the second note. I'm not trying to force the second note, but simply resting the finger on the key. Is this just a characteristic of the Fatar Keybed on the Stage 3 hp 76? Should I simply press it further and then not get the repeated note?

It's important to say I own a NS3 73 compact and I do not have the same issue.

The key is physically bouncing (you can clearly see it happen in your video). This is going to be a technique issue. When you push the key down you can't let it bounce under your finger.

I had the same issue on electro 6HP, I returned it, because it makes the organ section unplayable for me, altho I play mostly piano sounds. Im not sure id want to alter my relaxed classical piano technique because of it...
