Please post ONLY if you are having Mod Wheel / Morph issues.

I would like to get a sense of how prevalent the Mod Wheel defect is. Please post in this thread ONLY if you are having MOD WHEEL issues (most notably with the Morph function).

I'm hoping this data can be sent to NORD to illustrate the magnitude of the issue and to obtain a suitable response.

I am reporting my NS3C is having Mod/Morph Wheel issues. I did have to open the unit and fix the connector as many others have.

I am having this problem, yes. I have a Stage 3 88*, and I can't get my mod wheel to reach its minimum value (i.e. that value it has when turned fully towards the player). If configured to morph the piano level, it won't go any further than the third or second last LED on the encoder.

I have sent a support request to Clavia, but am yet to hear back.

* UK, if that makes any difference. Yes, I know i have a US flag in my profile. I can't find a UK one!

I have a mod wheel issue on my Compact. When assigned to a parameter, that parameter jumps around wildly when the board shaken- played hard or if the chassis is tapped near the mod wheel.

In my NS3C wheel does not reach max 127 value when turned all the way up. It hangs somewhere near 45-50.

P.S. To check this issue easy way to is to use MIDI monitor (etc.) app which shows you all the MIDI data sent (I am using it with USB-midi)

EDIT: Today it works: It gives a full range 0-127.... Very oooood

I also have a mod wheel issue on my Compact. When assigned to a parameter, that parameter and the sound jumps around wildly when the wheel is moved -- more so if the lowest C is played or if the chassis is tapped near the mod wheel.

When my NS3C arrived the mod wheel was DOA. I opened it up and reattached the connector, which fixed the issue. A month later after some aggressive playing in the lower register near the wheel, the morphing leslie started acting all squirelly. So, I again played aggressively in the same area and the problem went away. I think I am going to try a drop of adhesive on the connectors in case it is being jarred by the keys.

My modwheel connector clip arrived broken off and rattling around the inside of the case. The modwheel worked for a while until the plug slipped lose and I had to open the case and put it back on. I have had occasional issues where the Modwheel on morph won't reach zero for some reason and I have to restart the keyboard to fix it. Very annoying, but not easily predictable.

For those of you having the hardware disconnect issue on the modwheel plug for the NS3C, please see my earlier thread about the possibility of using a pen cap clip or toothpick or other small object to nudge a loose connector back on without disassembling anything.

I opened the board and found the plug for the mod wheel to be very loose. The small plastic clip that was supposed to hold it in was broken. The tiny strip of gaff tape I put on it should hold it snug for the next decade or so. It works fine now.
