Pitch stick was causing a pitch issue, now it doesn’t work
Hi - looking to see if anyone else has this issue. The pitch stick is no longer working on my NS3 88 running OS 1.22. I'm familiar with how to enable and disable it (Shift > PStick for the engine and panel for which I want to activate it).
The pitch stick seemed to work normally at first, but over the past week or so, I noticed that when the pitch stick was enabled, the pitch of the selected sound would be raised a few cents and it would also waver a bit when I held a note, as if I was slightly moving the pitch stick back and forth (which I wasn’t). If I disabled the pitch stick, the sound played correctly.
Sometimes the pitch of an engine (usually the synth as I leave the pitch stick off for the organ and piano) would stick at a higher pitch and be out of tune with the other engines. Switching programs wouldn't help, only turning off and rebooting the NS3 would reset the correct pitch.
Just a few moments ago, I rebooted and now the pitch stick doesn’t work at all. Was wondering if this seems like a user issue (am I doing something wrong?), a software issue, or a hardware issue? I see where some Compact owners had trouble with a disconnected mod wheel cable, has anyone had a loose/disconnected pitch stick cable?
Thanks in-advance for any thoughts or recommendations!

I did have the pitch stick completely stop working for all engines and had to reboot the NS3C to get it come back

Thanks. Was yours a one-time issue, or did it happen multiple times? I keep rebooting, but it's not coming back.Fallboard wrote:I did have the pitch stick completely stop working for all engines and had to reboot the NS3C to get it come back

Looks like a physical issue... it might be broken and in need of a replacement?ajstan wrote:Thanks. Was yours a one-time issue, or did it happen multiple times? Unfortunately, I think you’re right about it being a hardware issue. I’d hate to have to pack it up and ship it for service so soon, but I’ll see what Nord says. I guess I’m looking for some hope that there is either some type of lower level hard reset function, or Fallboards situation was permanently resolved after a series of reboots or an OS update.
UPDATE: Confirmed that the problem is due to a fault in the pitch stick hardware.
