Brainstorming. Sounds like an internal voltage is drifting (for some reason). I guess it can't be temperature related, if a simple program change resets the level. Can't see past the idea that this is a hardware fault - failed power supply component?

Perplexing ... as a stop gap might try:
1) copy/recreate program in a different program number
2) use a different sample w/wo doing #1also
3) reverse panels - piano in B

Speaking as someone who has studied and worked in both digital and analogue sound processing engineering, internal voltage drift would most likely a) cause the CPU to misbehave b) cause the DACs to clip and/or audibly affect the signal horribly, not just a volume fade, and likely c) rapidly lead to an unstable board/OS. That doesn't match the symptoms here. Much more likely that it's a cross modulation of volume due to programming somehow (in an unexpected way, perhaps - compression effect dialled up strongly or something else unintuitive if you're not looking for it - these things have myriad ways that you can affect what sounds like the volume of a sound) or, if a hardware fault, likely the sensor for swell pedal reading something incorrect. It could also be the sound guy made a mistake and didn't realize it until you'd rebooted the board and didn't want to 'fess up!

But in terms of the digital sound workflow simple analogue faults like voltages won't produce linear / correspondingly simple output changes like that, that's just not how these things are architected.

Going back to theatre now, gonna try and downgrade to 1.40

Had 1.40 and upgraded to 2.10 last Monday directly.

Doing this to try and see if the problem is software or hardware

Had no issues with 1.40

Update:

Downgraded to 1.40, no issues. Problem hasn't occurred yet. Yesterday after 5-10 minutes of playing, started to lose volume.

Just played 70 minutes without changing program, no issues.

Might be a new bug in 2.10.

Another thing I noticed, is that the screen dims after a while of not changing programs, and brightens when I change progs. In 1.40 no issues. In 2.10 I feel that when it dims (Powersave?) it also dims the sound. Make sense? It's when I select a new prog and screen brightens, the sound brightens as well and comes alive. Could they be related?

I'm not experiencing anything remotely related to what you're describing with 2.10 when my screen dims or otherwise. I leave the unit on for hours when composing and jamming in studio and I have zero problems with volume over time.

The screen dimming is typical for OLED systems - OLEDs lose brightness based on their power-on time, dimming them helps maximize their lifetime significantly. Nearly every unit with an OLED will dim the display to prevent burn-in and increase longevity. This has absolutely zero relationship to the output volume as it's not controlled by the DAC but by the CPU which handles the UI interfacing - separate systems, separate power leads, separate concerns entirely.

Again, I'd suggest if you haven't already that you open a support ticket with Nord directly to find out what's going on. This particular issue does not seem common.

After reverting to 1.40, the volume drop never happened again. Done 3 shows in the meantime, 0 issues.

I only mentioned the screen dimming, because that's what i saw and heard - screen dimmed, volume dropped 3 Dbs (as measured by the sound desk) - as soon as I selected a new program, and the screen brightens, volume came back up.

I know it doesn't make sense - I have already filed a ticket, and also spoken to Pablo Mastodan about this. Will keep you posted!
