Re: Piano rhodes wurly
I enter the mixer with two Jacks ... But on stage I always have a monitor ...... Maybe I should use two monitors ... But it's not so easy ..... A question but on the previous stage even in North mono sounds still seemed to be good

Hi Leonardo, I have come a little late to the party but wanted to let you know that I emphasize with you. For the price that I paid for my Stage 3 76 (£3,250), the sounds are not fantastic. For me, the Nord Stage is a worthy purchase for the gigging musician who needs a myriad of reasonably good quality sounds to hand in one, self contained light-weight keyboard, and with the possibility of splitting and layering sounds on the fly. The sounds are not the best by some stretch and I find myself continually fiddling with what I call the staple sounds. This is with the exception of the Organ engine which I have yet to find its equal.
For the Fender Rhodes and Wurlitzer sounds, I have settled on a couple of go-to sounds; one in stereo without the amp; and the other in mono with the amp. I will generally use the A-pan to mimic the vibrato of the old suitcases, sometimes a hint of chorus and some reverb, but the key is to use the amp if you are not satisfied and EQ until you find a sound that is acceptable to your ears.
For the acoustic piano, again it depends on what you are looking for. I may play a set and use three different pianos; sometimes I like a dull upright as it reminds me of bashing an old piano kind of Motown-style (for want of a better explanation); or sometimes dull doesn't cut through so I use a brighter Silver piano. But again, you have to use your ears and don't be afraid to use the EQ on the amp section of the keyboard.
On general sound, I will always recommend using a standalone stereo amp with an EQ so that you can adapt your sound to the venue. Or if you go mono, remember to use the "mono out" selection on the Panel section of the keyboard. It all helps. But don't be afraid to keep twiddling. Some of us are just never satisfied.
I have a Korg Kronos which gets much less usage than my Nord as it is really heavy and super complicated to use. But, the acoustic and electric piano sounds are for me the best I have come across.

Re: Piano rhodes wurly
Hi Everyone, I'm just going to chip in here. My 'Go To' piano at the moment for functions bands, doing standard pop/rock/ disco etc etc is the DIGI GRAND 2. Piano velocity setting 2 ( on NE5D) with a little top end EQ and chorus is sounds great in the mix and cuts like a knife!
Best when the band is going full blast, things like 'Sweet Home Alabama' or ' I will survive' ! Might be worth a try?
