Phase ...?

Postby ADSRLFO » 11 Apr 2018, 18:54

From the begenning , ( update 1.40 ) , impossibe to get the right amount of phase and flange , the effect is always on even at minimum

Is it only on my NS3 or a persisting bug ?

I’m not sure it’s a “bug”, but per baekgaard’s NS3 bug Sheet linked to in the top section of this forum (Line #18), it’s been around for a long time and isn’t fixed.

I can’t decide whether this is actually a bug, myself: if you’re going to set an effect to zero, why not turn it off? Wouldn’t you expect a minimal effect if you bothered to switch it on? (Honest question! I may just be missing something, here.)

I like to have the effect on and set to zero so I can gradually turn it on and off during a song with the Control Pedal. Using the Source On/Off button is abrupt and doesn’t sound very good.

A good example is in covering Kiss You All Over by Exile. The Phase on the synth strings is only on for certain parts of the song. Can’t leave the Phase on with the Amount set to zero and control with a pedal, because the Phase is still very noticeable at zero.

A workaround is to duplicate the piano to another slot and control the relative volumes of with- and without- phaser with the expression pedal or the wheel.

This “problem” is also existing in Stage 2 / 2 EX ... I’m sure that effect pedals with that have the exact same behavior, so this is modeled after that.. :)

That makes sense. Thank you.
