Page Turner recommendations for ForScore
So last week i bought an iPad Pro and downloaded the Forscore app to go paperless. I have managed to load my set list into Forscore, yay...major achievement, but am now wondering how everyone turns their pages. Am looking for product recommendations as I know very little about this. Am also wondering how easy it is to coordinate a foot pedal page turner while also using the sustain pedal. Any advice would be appreciated... Am trying to get set up for Fetival for 12 May... Eeeek!

Re: Page Turner recommendations for ForScore
I was a huge AirTurn fan for years (previous gen). I bought the full-out kit with the Boss FS-5U pedals. When the module failed in January after five years of reliable use, I re-evaluated and gave PageFlip a try.
Both products are effective, each have their UI strengths and weaknesses. AirTurn's UI is minimalist and fiddly, but it worked well. On the downside, I felt compelled to charge the internal hardwired battery weekly, because there was no way to know the remaining life.
PageFlip's industrial design has improved of late; I have the Firefly, which has dedicated operational switches, lighted pedals (also switchable), and uses AAs. Much less fiddly, and status is available with a near-immediate glance (as opposed to gazing at the AirTurn's single multicolored LED for several seconds for the telltale blinks).
It's not a deal-breaker for me, but note that the flexibility Firefly promises comes with at least one asterisk: if you want to use external pedals (like my Bosses), you are totally on your own to acquire suitable cables... the manufacturer does not sell them as accessories, and their customer service offers no suggestions, even when pressed. (The cables that came with the AirTurn are electrically incompatible.)

I highly recommend the PageFlip Butterfly. I use the 1st Generation Cicada, but it works great with ForScore

Me and everyone I know who uses it just touches the screen, it's faster than a page turn even if you have to do it twice as much.Sal-FloydonNord2 wrote:but am now wondering how everyone turns their pages.
Try going back to paper music after a while, you'll try tapping the page and wondering why it hasn't turned yet!

So, finally the only benefit for a foot switch is that you keep your hands on the keyboard? Well, I might recnsider because I was assuming it was faster with the foot...

It’s not about being faster... it’s about “staying in the moment” with your performance, reducing the extraneous actions of your hands, and so on.Quai34 wrote:Well, I might recnsider because I was assuming it was faster with the foot...
No more cursing the music publisher for awkward page turns that could have been paginated better, either.
But yeah, someclevername, muscle memory can be a real b****... I’ve done that very thing, more than once!

Ok, yes, you're right...I will think about it but it won't be before I buy an Ipad 12.9", the normal size is too small for me...PScooter63 wrote:It’s not about being faster... it’s about “staying in the moment” with your performance, reducing the extraneous actions of your hands, and so on.Quai34 wrote:Well, I might recnsider because I was assuming it was faster with the foot...

About muscle memory, not exactly the same but when I have practiced a lot with my C2 with the half moon and when I get back to the Stage but with the same songs, I'm still trying to switch the Leslie with my left hand and wondering where does this F....switch went? Ho yes, left foot on my stage for the Leslie speed....
