NS4 - setting a rotary speaker morph - possible bug?

Post by edwiles »

Hi,

About setting a morph for the rotary speaker. It looks to me that sometimes, the current STOP MODE on/off setting is not correctly reflected in the "From" of the morph. Specifically:

- With STOP MODE off and SLOW on, holding WHEEL/CTRLPED and pressing FAST shows "From Stop To Fast" (should be "From Slow To Fast" ?). But for A.T. it's ok (From Slow To Fast). Similarly if FAST is on and you press SLOW.

- With STOP MODE on and SLOW on, holding A.T. and pressing FAST shows "From Slow To Fast" (should be "From Stop To Fast" ?). But WHEEL/CTRLPED are ok. Similarly if FAST is on and you press SLOW.

Can someone please confirm? I've put it in the bug list provisionally.

Thanks a lot

Ed

Thanks, I've just read this - I understand that the STOP MODE button changes the behaviour of the SLOW button (ie when stop is on and slow is on, the rotary stops). I think this bug report still stands - what do you think?

Yes I agree, what you described sounds like a bug, albeit a minor one (only the text displayed is wrong).

Thanks for confirming @Hlaalu. Though I just listened with headphones on, and I'm finding that it's not just the text that's wrong, it's the behaviour too.

eg If stop mode is off and slow is on, then the available Wheel morph according to the display is From Stop To Fast (rather than From Slow To Fast). If I select that, moving the wheel fully downwards stops the rotary, and fully upwards makes it fast.

Yeah, there are more problems than that. The second use of the MOD wheel morph won't act correctly. I've submitted this to Clavia and they acknowledged it had been reported but still not fixed in 1.14.

Thanks @StuartR. I've submitted this report to Clavia too, maybe that will help with prioritisation of your issue.
