Did some messing around with the poly arpeggiator, and it's quite fun making different rhythmic patterns.
BUT I find it's a huge drawback that the arp starts when you activate the program, instead of "holding" until a key is pressed.
This behaviour makes it impossible to start a rhythmic sequence where the pattern and accents are following an uneven structure.
As soon as the program is chosen, the arp starts to run. By the time I'm ready to start playing, the pattern are almost halfway or more into the rhythmic sequence.
Hopefully this will be addressed in an OS update. Have written into the wishlist: nord-stage-forum-f3/wishlist-for-future-stage-4-os-updates-t23741.html

Re: NS4 Polyphonic arpeggiator start
I would suggest reporting it to Nord support as a "bug" if there isn't any way to have the arpeggiator trigger on the first key (or more) played.

Yup, will do. Just gonna do some more testing first, later today.
If other NS4 owners could confirm this behaviour it would be helpful.

Re: NS4 Polyphonic arpeggiator start
Some of the Arp factory presets don't stop after releasing a key. They sound as long as I don't switch to another program.
Kind regards,
Helmut

Is the "hold" programmed to be "on" for the presets that continue playing after releasing a key?

Yes, it would be good for someone to build a program and see if they have the same problem. If the arpeggiator is triggering before you've played anything, how does the NS4 "know" what notes to play? Is it a seemless transition problem? Thanks.

Re: NS4 Polyphonic arpeggiator start
I'm on mobile right now but there is an option where you can specify if the arp should restart after all fingers left the keys or if it should continue to run in the background. Check the manual, there is also an in between setting where you can lift all fingers for less than a quarter note (?) without resetting the arp.

Re: NS4 Polyphonic arpeggiator start
Sounds to me like it is still playing another arpeggiated program or layer, which is set on hold.
Savoy Truffle don't intend a musical revolution but rather to make this world a slightly better place to be – with cleverly arranged, intelligent, stylish and ultimately beautiful pop songs.

Re: SOLVED - NS4 Polyphonic arpeggiator start
The problem was easy to solve, with the KB SYNC function (page 36 in the manual)
