WannitBBBad wrote:To go along with my prior suggestion about selectable high note tracking of the synth when in mono, high note tracking could also be effective in better emulating a pedal steel if used together with a new on/off pedal functionality: the capability to have the pitch stick only affect the highest note played when the sustain pedal (or the rotary effect pedal) is held down. Emulation explained: Using the pitch stick, "slide" up to a chord, then depress the sustain pedal and use the pitch stick to affect only the highest note played while the other notes remain unchanged. Holding the pedal, the highest note could be raised or lowered just like a pedal steel, or could simply raised to emulate a "B-bender" on a telecaster.
This is a fantastic idea!

IIRC my DX7 had a pitch-bend option that would only bend the lowest or highest note of the chord/keys you held.
You could use this for emulating an electric guitar pushing the lowest note up to sound in unison with the next lowest note. (ie C-D-F to D-D-F).
But in a broader sense just any *single* note at the top or bottom of the chord; simple but expressive.
Not exactly the same but it could be in the same realm as your suggestion.
The following statement is not true. The previous statement is true.

Flashing light as silent Metronome
I would like to use the Master clock as a Metronome. One of the LEDs should be flashing in the clock frequency immediately when a program is selected. The purpose is to have the right Tempo when playing a Keyboard Intro without a count in from the drummer or anybody Else.

I use the arpegiator for this now where I include the tempo of the song in the program; allowing me to turn the arpegiator on and hold a note long enough to get the tempo. The light would be a nice silent option.

Thanks - I think it would really open up another avenue of playing.

Re: NS3 Wishlist
Wishlist:
1) Please, please, please can the next Nord Stage compact keyboard have an option with a lightweight synth keybed and draw bars.
That way I can use a weighted MIDI controller I really like for playing Piano / Rhodes on Slot B and then use the Nord lightweight synth keybed for Clav and shredding on the Hammond and Synth on Slot A. The waterfall keyboard just ain't quite fast enough to play clavinet properly ! (I've got a Hohner D6).
2) Balanced XLR / 1/4" Jack combination output
3) 4 slots with totally programable split points like Roland synths. (LED above each key showing where they are).
4) Velocity cross fade on the sampler in the synth.
5) Secondary, mixable audio input
THANK YOU !!
xxxxx

There are work-arounds for getting the pedal steel effect. Below is a link to two Stage 3 programs that emulate the pedals/levers on a pedal steel, but requiring two hands playing - the left hand notes change pitch using the morph functionality applied to the OSC (cannot be applied to samples) and the right hand notes are unaffected. My wish list suggestion would leave the AT, CP, and MW morphing for other use, allow the functionality to be applied to samples, and provide for a much better level of control over the pitch. Take care.
