Just as I feared it the problem came back again this week during a gig.
I could solve it temporary again while I knocked at the area outside the cover, but I had to do it three or four more times during this gig. That´s not a durable solution!
I already wrote an email to the technical Support of Clavia 3 weeks ago, but I didn´t get an answer till now.
Maybe a few of you have the same problem meanwhile. Could anybody fix it durable? I´m thankfull for any ideas.
I don´t want to send it back and wait for replacement, because I played some gigs with it and I have lot of gigs the next time and I´m familiar with it, now.

This happened to me too with my NS3 Compact.
Initially, I got some electrical tape to hold the two connectors together more securely but eventually I bit the bullet and removed both the wire connector and the one on the board and soldered the wires directly to the board in a similar way to how the pitch-bend wires are connected...!
I'm sure someone here can confirm, but I believe that may be what gets done if you return the keyboard to a Nord service place...?
Anyway, haven't had any problems since then :)
Of course, I may have invalidated my warranty by opening up my keyboard (edit) to do the mod...!

You can't invalidate your warranty by opening your keyboard.

Just in the news yesterday on slashdot https://games.slashdot.org/story/18/05/ ... d-stickers

"The Federal Trade Commission put six companies on notice in early April for illegally telling customers that getting third-party repairs voids the warranty on their electronics. You've seen the stickers before and read the messages buried in end user license agreements. Plastered on the back of my PlayStation 4 is a little sticker that says "warranty void if removed." That's illegal. "

And Europe has even stricter protections.

That may be true in the USA, but I'm not totally convinced it's the same in the UK...
From http://www.techadvisor.co.uk:
"You (sic) rights under the warranty are dependent on the terms provided by the manufacturer, which can be as wide or restrictive as it likes."
and from Nord:
"Warranty and maintenance is handled by our distributors, and in some cases by special service centers. Please consult your point of purchase for detailed information."
The distributor here in the UK is Sound Technology ... except that on Sound Technology's website:
"For warranty repairs the first point of contact should always be the dealer/reseller from whom you purchased the product as it is with them that the warranty resides."
which in my case would be ****** (name hidden in case I should ever need their services and they've read this!) 8-)
It all looks a bit of a minefield really although I have spoken quite often to Sound Technology's service dept over the years re the various Nords I've owned and they've always been very helpful
Now that I have fixed my keyboard to correct what seems to be a Nord design problem, hopefully my NS3 won't develop a fault whilst under warranty... ;)

I fail to see where it says that if you open the chassis you lose the warranty.
How is one supposed to change the voltage, then?

Ok, Ok, It's not really the opening up of the keyboard per se that may (or hopefully won't) cause a warranty issue.
What I really meant was the fact that if, for any reason, I have to return the keyboard for a warranty repair, it's pretty obvious that I've done a modification, albeit one that fixes a design fault by Nord.
Changing the voltage isn't really the same thing...

I had the same problem with mine, just opened and gave the same connection a squeeze and went back to work. No need to remove the lid, just got up.

That’s just a temporary fix, though.

The permanent (and official) one is to remove the connector entirely and solder directly.

Does anybody know if the issue has been fixed by Clavia in the revB hardware?

Considering that they changed the front panel, added the brackets for the music stand and the fittings for the Nord Monitors, it would seem logical that they also fixed what is an aknowledged (and not minor!) design mistake.

With all the new features and bugfixes I'm more and more interested in a NS3 Compact, but I will not buy a brand new €3K keyboard with a mod wheel that may stop working on any given night.

Since it’s literally a three-minute fix and a simpler manufacturing process than crimping on a connector, it would be insanity if they didn’t routinely fix this issue during assembly. I think it’s safe to assume that it hasn’t been a problem in at least a year.
