I'm sorry if it seemed that I look at it as an investment, it's not.
I've always upgraded to the latest board (not EX versions BTW) as soon as it was available.
Just want to keep current.
I still got my Roland Juno 60 (bought when it came out).
And a Yamaha DX7 II FD which I did 'upgrade' to after selling my DX7, also for both being first owner.

It's more than that, there are changes in every section... they even removed the "Live drawbars" button from the organ section, does it mean that function is not available anymore in latest OS?
(EDIT: I was looking at the panel from the HA88...of course it's missing that button, it doesn't have drawbars!)
Anyway, it's a pretty big hardware revision, even bigger than what they usually do with the "EX" versions... didn't expect that, but kudos to Clavia for going the extra mile to keep their instrument up to date with the new software features!

Re: NS3 update 2.12
How many panel versions are there on sold units until now?
Mine is version 3.0 (with Dyno labels). AFAIKS the dyno labels are the only difference between 2.0 (mothership pictures) and 3.0.

Re: NS3 update 2.12
Does anyone have a decent estimate regarding how long it my be before the update version is released? I'm very new to the whole Nord thing, and have decided that an NS3 is my next purchase. I talked to Sweater today, and it looks like all of the ones they have in stock (from a shipment about a month ago) doesn't even have the piano dyno labels. (V2.1?)
While I totally get that the differences may not be great, if the price is the same either way, I'd prefer to have the version that accommodates the latest OS. But I also don't want to wait forever...

Re: NS3 update 2.12
The latest OS can be flashed on all versions. They work the same with the filters even if the silk screen looks different. Mine is the first batch (very low serial) and it works absolutely fine still.

Re: NS3 update 2.12
I get that the firmware will run on all NS3s. But the changes being discussed seem to be a bit more than just a different silk screen.
Re: NS3 update 2.12
From my past experience waiting for the initial sales of the NS3 the pipeline to the US distribution is a couple of months. So even if they started making the new ones today, it would likely be 60-90 days before they would show up in the USA sales channel.
It would of coarse be different for different geographic locations, but your profile indicates your here in the US like me.
Of coarse nobody except Nord would be able to tell you for sure when you might expect shipments here. Then of coarse you'd also still not be assured of getting one of the new ones as its not clear how many existing units are still in the pipeline.

Re: NS3 update 2.12
There's a lot of confusion in this thread. The NS3 has a current firmware version which fixes most of its early bugs. It's nice and light. If you've tried one and like it, no reason not to order one. Nord things are fun.
