Nord Stage 2 Random crashes and restarts

Hi experts! My Nord Stage 2 piano randomly crashes and then restarts. Unfortunately, the error cannot be reproduced.
Sometimes it can play normally for days, sometimes it crashes every few minutes.

Is the issue known? I know, difficult to answer from a distance, but what could be the cause?

Hello, and welcome to the Forum! I would first try a new AC cable to rule out any type of intermittent short (cord fails when twisted a certain way) and check the fit of the AC plug into your Stage 2. If you feel comfortable opening up your Stage 2 and aware of the precautions to take, it may also be a loose connection inside from the power supply to the board. I dont know if it could be the power supply itself working intermittently, but I'm sure someone else from the Forum can chime in on that. Good luck to you.

Hi, its a common trouble for old Nord Stage Classics, the solution was to replace old ribbon cable from power block to the board. 10$ repair.

Thank you for your help! The AC cable is ok, same problem with another AC cable.
Next I will try to change the ribbon cable. Is it a common problem with Stage 2?

BTW: Where do I get a Service Manual for the Stage 2.

Service Manual for NS2 is not public, it is reserved to official assistance; but the ribbon cable can be purchased from any good Electronics Components shop ("physical" or online like Mouser), if you have a friend who is skilled with electronics repairs let him/her do the purchase and also replacement (better)

Do you have a mouser part number?
The Nord is not with me right now, so I can't look into it.

I must anyway order some parts at mouser for recapping and recalibrating a tone generator of a hammond and rebuilding a preamp AO-28.
Then I can order the ribbon cable. The Replacement is no problem.

The Ribbon cable between power block and board is a ribbon FC-10P.
Hope its the cause for this problem.

(Some additional info, when NS was restarting we replaced old capacitors/ resistors with new ones,(on the power block itself) they were worn out with low impedance. Even after that NS was restarting.
Only after replacing Ribbon cable it worked ok.
