I think they’re in the process of losing a good bit of money. Along with people returning them, I have a friend of mine who was going to buy a NS3 88, but didn’t because he couldn’t deal with the organ compared with his Electro 3, and knew about the lack of sample editing. Not a good look for Nord!

i can't wait too much time without the sample editor. I need it. how is so difficult to fix it? it seems a lack of interest. the NS3 is selling since August. I don’t understand it.

If you read the thread, there is some speculation about why.

Why aren’t you playing Rachmaninov’s third piano concerto? How is it so difficult to play it? It seems a lack of interest.

Or maybe...there’s just a little more to it than one might think at first.

I'm not playing Rachmaninov’s third piano concerto because I own a NORD Stage 3 and not a Steinway or Yamaha C3.

Sooo...not lack of interest, but other reasons not so obvious, eh?

I've played a few parts from the Rach 3 on my NS3C so that's no excuse. I'm sure Sergei would have loved to have that waterfall action and a nice pair of headphones instead of the little silent keyboard he had to use on his voyage to America.

Not exactly the same as the sample editor we're waiting for, but still an improvement,
I might consider buying a NS3 now!

The sample converter plus the latest OS update (1.32) - which fixes some key issues around the sound of the organs - definitely makes the NS3 worth buying. I converted 8 must-have samples from my NS2 (which came from off-board sources themselves) via drag-and-drop in seconds and they played beautifully at a gig later that night. While we wait for a dedicated, fully-fledged sound editor from Clavia, this converter is just what the doctor ordered.

Just noticed that the Nord Sample Editor page no longer states that an editor for the NS3 is in the works and will be released soon. The text has been changed to read:

"Nord Stage 3 Owners: You can use the Nord Sample Converter to convert your sample instruments to the new NSMP3 format. Read more here."
http://www.nordkeyboards.com/software-t ... ple-editor

Has this been changed recently? If so, I think it means that either an NSMP3 sample editor is imminent (good news), or it is no longer "coming soon" (bad news). The converter helps me do what I need to do at this time, but it would be nice to have a native sample editor to be able to streamline the process without needing to convert first. We'll see.
