No sound from Outputs 1&2

Hi everyone, a first post from me and I'm relatively new to Nord having bought my Stage 2 (rev.B, 1.72) only last November. Completely in love with it but I have an issue I hope someone can help with. I started the Stage2 the other night and there was no sound from either left or right from Outputs 1&2. I just switched it off and on again, which cleared the problem for that session. The same day I went off to a gig, set up and powered on and NO SOUND! I tried the on/off trick but no joy this time. I was slightly panicked at first but then found I could change the Global Outputs for Piano/Organ/Synth to 3&4, then move the cables over and this was fine, crisis over, for the gig anyway.

I've since been though the System output settings (Global and Program, A and B) numerous times, changing cables, flicking between Outputs 1&2 then 3&4, some rebooting in between, trying pianos/organs/synths sections and I'm getting nothing from Outputs 1&2. I've checked headphones output is working fine.

In the meantime I can use Outputs 3&4 ok but am I missing anything else to check or could this be a hardware or software fault? Has anyone had this issue before and resolved this with any reset methods, OS reloading?

Hey I know this might sound silly, but if you happened to plug your sustain pedal into the control pedal port, that will really mess things up. I don't have young eyes anymore, and I've made that mistake myself. Double check your pedal cable.

i may have made that mistake at some point too.
I wonder if booting up with pedals in the wrong sockets "confuses" the system and potentially leaves it in a muted state.
I'll investigate further and report back. Thanks.

I would definitely not worry about reloading OS or any other software operations. If the failure continues without any pedal use, then it is almost certainly hardware issue.

I returned it to the store today for repair under warranty. I was fortunate that the store had a display Stage2 which they were happy to lend me whilst mine is sent away. (Thanks to Mark @ PMTOnline.co.uk, Norwich). I took a full backup so I could easily restore this to the loan Stage2. Well done Nord for designing such an effortless backup/restore process!

Hopefully I'll get some report on what caused the fault and how it was resolved - I'll keep you posted.

My Stage2 is back, all fixed.
The report says it was a "failed output board", which was replaced.
I don't know how common that is but could have just been unlucky. At least it was covered by warranty and promptly resolved.
