Need default name and Patches for Song 1:01 and Song 1:02
Hello,
When I got my Nord Stage 3, I replaced Song 1:01 and Song 1:02. I would like to get the originals back in there.
Can somebody tell me the name of Song 1:01 and Song 1:02, and the patches that are in each one?
It would be greatly appreciated
Thank you!
David

Hi David,
just load the factory restore file from Nord's webpage here: https://www.nordkeyboards.com/sites/def ... v2.5X.ns3b
Once downloaded go to the folder where the downlad was saved to, rename the extension of the factory restore file to .zip and then unpack the whole file into another directory. You then can browse this directory with your Windows Explorer or MAC Finder. Go to the Song -> Bank 1 folder and you will see which songs are shipped with the NS3 factory content.
You can use Nord Sound Manager to restore just the missing/changed/deleted songs individually from that folder to the original song slots 1:01 and 1:02
Take care!

Tip: If you’re on a Mac, you’ll need to download a third party Zip utility. I tried to do this with Apple’s native “Archive Utility” and it wouldn’t recognize the file format. I used “Unarchiver” and it worked.

If I remember correctly, there are no Songs at all loaded in the Factory set. They are just listed as Song 1:01 (Empty) with the program A11 listed (the first program in the unit). There are no programs defined in the Songs until the user programs the Song name.

The factory reset file contains 10 songs in Bank 1, called like B3 Organs, Clavinets etc.
Here’s a screenshot (taken from my iPad) of the Song -> Bank 1 folder:

Interesting.
I got my NS3 in 2017, one of the first shipped and there were no defined songs in the Song tab at all-

Re: Need default name and Patches for Song 1:01 and Song 1:0
The Songs can contain whatever Programs one wants and I don't believe the factory settings are all that relevant, unless you want a Song just with Mellotrons or Orchestra etc. My earliest NS3 from ~2017 had nothing saved in the Songs and I appreciated that, as I could quickly update them to what I wanted to do with them.
One small tip that has worked well for me is creating some general Songs that have pointers to my favorite Programs with Piano, Organ, CP80, Wurly, etc. plus layers...so if I am in quick need of some "go-to" type sounds, I can just scroll to one of these.

That is the case with mine from 2017, no songs at all.ericL wrote:The Songs can contain whatever Programs one wants and I don't believe the factory settings are all that relevant, unless you want a Song just with Mellotrons or Orchestra etc. My earliest NS3 from ~2017 had nothing saved in the Songs and I appreciated that, as I could quickly update them to what I wanted to do with them.

Agree with you, EricL. Just answered a question. And used it to listen a little to the sounds implied - found some interesting ones. Haven't done that for a long time.
