Moving existing programs to Slot A or B

Postby pianopop9 » 27 May 2021, 23:19

Hi all. Trying to get a NS3 up to speed after upgrading from a NS2. On the 2, I was able to simply hold A or B down and select a program, but that does not seem to be an option on the 3. Any way to bring in an existing A or B slot program to another program like I was able to do on the 2 rather than finding the original sample and having to create it all over again on the new program?

Thanks!

It's even easier on the NS3 than NS2, as there is a "Copy Panel" and "Paste" feature (look at the buttons right next to the Program buttons or check the manual. I'm not in front of my NS3 now, though it's pretty easy once you do it.

Hi,

from time to time it will happen that you'll have to look into the manual - as things changed between NS2 and 3. Concerning the synth, MIDI, ... Like this point.

just to add some info: " it is not possible to copy an individual engine, (say you are using ORG/P/SYNTH in Panel A, and you want to copy just the synth). You can only copy an entire panel at a time. In fact, per the Nord Stage 2 manual -it appears to have the same behavior as well." (credit of thanks to Marc from MYKeysToMusic, for this info).

Right, you can not copy a single engine. But it's not true that you can only copy one panel at a time. On the board (NS3) itself, you can either copy a panel, an entire program or a morph. Always using the Copy button + X.

for the Synth part the workaround is to save it as a Synth preset.

Or, you can just turn off the engine you don't want to copy, then copy and paste the panel to a new destination.
