Midi channel assignments not saving per program in DB mode
Hello,
I am having an issue where it appears that when I am in Dual Keyboard mode and set the assignment for the Midi channel and then store to the program, and then go to another program and change the settings, it appears to effect all programs globally. Is I for example have a Midi assignment set for just panel B on one program, but go to another program where I had set instead a dual keyboard Midi assignment, the assignment will only reflect the last program I set.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Bill

Re: Midi channel assignments not saving per program in DB mo
Afaik only Extern section MIDI parameters can be stored per Program, the others (MIDI menu, so including DualKB channel) are always Global.

Re: Midi channel assignments not saving per program in DB mo
Thanks for your help maxpiano. I guess I was confused by the wording in the NS3 users manual:maxpiano wrote:Afaik only Extern section MIDI parameters can be stored per Program, the others (MIDI menu, so including DualKB channel) are always Global.
The DUAL KB feature allows for playing and controlling one of the Panel B sound engines from an external keyboard connected to the mIDI input of the Nord Stage 3. This can be handy in live situations where a secondary keyboard can be used as a controller for certain parts of the Nord Stage 3, on a per-program basis.
This would seem to indicate that this could be set for each individual program. This was also the impression I got from Mark Larochelle’s YouTube video on the dual KB mode
About the 1:26 mark he discusses this section of the manual

You can save the DualKB style (i.e. Section/Panel assigned to the DualKB), which is a Program (non MIDI) setting, but not the MIDI Channel assigned to Dual KB (global MIDI setting)

Re: Midi channel assignments not saving per program in DB mo
The On/Off status of Dual Keyboard Mode is a storable per program parameter. That is, as one moves through a progression of programs, some may have this mode engaged while others have this disengaged. But the applicable midi channel settings are global.

Thanks for all who responded. I now understand that the function of being able to turn on or off DB mode and the panel function is saved per patch, but the midi channel assignments are global.
Much appreciated.
