Looking for Tubular bells sound on Stage 88

Post by Alan Key »

All,

I'm looking to achieve a 'tubular bells' sound for some Christmas songs. I can't find anything suitable in the factory sounds, can anyone offer any assistance please?

Kind Regards,

Thank you Gentlemen,

Am I right in thinking the sample library is only suitable for the Stage 2? I have an Nord Stage, revision B & I don't think it will accept these samples?

Kind Regards

You might also want to experiment by sending a sound which is similar in "shape" through the ring modulator. I'm not at home at the moment to experiment but a ring modulator can definitely be used to produce some bell like sounds.

Imo the best way to try and achieve that is by using the NS Synth section; FM is the best to produce bell-like sounds but also some of the Digital Wavetables can be used for that.

I suggest you to browse the Factory Synth Sounds (of the synth section, the list is published n this forum at this link here) and search for something close enough to what you need then tweak it, unless of course you are experienced enough in using FM synthesis to do that from scratch.

I'm afraid you are right, your Stage is an older version and you can't load samples into it at all - apart from the piano library samples, of course.
