Hi,
did anyone notice early sound cutoffs when using long release synth sounds (like strings)? It sounds just like a polyphony issue with sounding notes being cutoff but it already appears on single key strokes. Also let's say in feels way too disturbing to be a polyphonic issue in such a modern instrument, but that's just my expectation
To illustrate my point here's a sample: what you hear is an orchestral strings sound using both synth engines with factory samples set to long releases of about 500ms and 800ms. It's always a single key stroke at a time.
So there are two 'standalone-notes' in the beginning so you can hear the sound, then there are some repeating notes to show the issue. I hear the first dropout on the third repeating note, so even if we count the first two notes that's the 5th note played. The program uses two synth sections so that's 10 voices sounding. These include the 4 voices from the first two notes that should be barely hearable at that point and anyway should be the first ones to cut off due to polyphonic limitations, so if we assume this to be a polyphonic issue and a bug-free voice stealer, the NS3 wouldn't be able to handle 6 voices at a time (1 voice = 1 stereo sample played)... which I doubt.
Does someone have the same issue? Could this be a bug in the voice-handling?
Just as a reference, there has been a discussion about polyphony in general: post93721.html?hilit=sound%20cuts%20off#p93721

Re: Long release synths cut off early
Today, I reproduced this issue by playing repeted chords with a string sample with 500ms as attack and release. As suggested by another forum user (I don't remember his name).
Strange things appears very early and often. I'm pretty sure to be under max polyphony.
It seems to be related to same bug as yours.
My OS version is 2.10, but the last one does'nt fix this issue according to same forum user.

A big problem for me, take a look :

Here you find some YouTube videos I made, for example

Answer from German nord support:
....they are working on this behavior and we should expect a correction "not very far away".
Old song from ??? .. ....all we can do is sit an wait

Re: Long release synths cut off early
I pointed this issue out to Nord already at OS 1.60, but clearly it has not been fixed.
My fingers are still crossed for a solution as this is a serious problem when playing strings and pads.

Re: Long release synths cut off early
Thanks for the replys, I feel less alone now actually if Nord is aware of the issue I'd trust them to resolve it at some point. They probably have quite a long todo-list so I don't mind to wait a bit, however I suppose this concerns quite a basic functionality thus should get a high priority.

Re: Long release synths cut off early
Wow, I look forward to checking this out - I've been keeping relatively quiet on what I've noticed in NS3 Programs where I've essentially replicated a Program from NS2 (same piano/synth layers/splits) where I have noticed synth/sample voice robbing and dropouts on the NS3 that are not apparent in the NS2. I've been trying to be patient and hoping a bug fix would come along as Nord typically will respond to such issues, eventually. I had long ago waited on even getting an NS3 until some of the earlier bugs had stabilized in the OS revisions.
